It is this time of year when our skin begins to feel the effects of the cold weather and the increased heating going on in houses. Resulting in our skin beginning to feel drier. If you have dry skin already, such as eczema, then this can really begin to be a time of year when you experience more problems.
It is also the time of year when pumpkins are in plentiful supply. Pumpkins are a great treat for our skin. Pumpkin’s are packed with fruit enzymes and alpha hydroxy acids (AHAs), which increase cell turnover, to brighten and smooth the skin. Pumpkin’s contain antioxidant Vitamin A and Vitamin C to help soften and soothe the skin and boost collagen production to prevent the signs of aging.
So whilst you are carving your Halloween lanterns save some of the flesh for an easy facemask that you can make at home.
Oats help skin to retain its natural moisture balance, which is very important part of a regular skin care routine. When oats are applied to the surface of the skin and then removed, a protective barrier preventing moisture loss from the skin is left behind - a natural and effective moisturizer for healthy skin care. Using oats can be an effective and natural way of preventing dry skin.
Oats are a soothing anti-inflammatory and redness remover when applied to the skin. It helps with skin itching caused from various skin problems such as dry skin and eczema.
Honey is a natural humectant. This means it holds the moisture in our skin making it a fabulous natural moisturiser and a great addition to anti-aging products.
